The Summer 2026 issue of the AMWA Journal examines the present and future of artificial intelligence (AI) in medical communication. Clearly, AI offers a wealth of important tools for medical communicators, but not without limitations and challenges. Human oversight remains essential. Theme content in this issue includes a piece on new roles that AI can bring to medical writing: 2 pieces on AI in regulatory writing and 2 AI-themed session reports from the most recent annual conference.
