Nonclinical research forms the scientific basis of all drug development programs, yet many skilled publications writers feel unprepared, or even intimidated, when asked to develop a nonclinical manuscript. This article provides a practical, confidence- building framework for understanding nonclinical research, navigating the data, and producing scientifically rigorous, strategically aligned publications. This guide offers best practices, process guidance, and solutions to common challenges, with the goal of empowering freelance and contract writers, particularly those who are supporting nonclinical researchers who do not publish regularly, to approach nonclinical manuscripts with clarity, competence, and enthusiasm.
