Effective medical writing requires more than language skills; it depends on rigorous literature research, critical appraisal, and evidence synthesis. With the growing volume of published studies, identifying and assessing high-quality evidence efficiently is essential. This article provides a practical guide for medical writers, covering strategies to define research goals, leverage both traditional databases and artificial intelligence–powered tools for literature searches, critically evaluate studies and journals, and organize references to provide accurate and credible content. By applying these strategies, medical writers can ensure their work is rooted in evidence, enhances health care communication, and maintains the highest standards of scientific rigor.
